SAMS Norway welcomes you as a participant in a series of workshops about the next generation of transport and logistics solutions. Through scenario methodology and creative exercises, we create a better understanding of resource-optimal- and sustainable industry services that meet the needs and demands of tomorrow.
The workshop series “The transport network of the future” will give you a better understanding of the modus operandum of transport networks ten years from now. Together we reflect on different scenarios with an emphasis on business in ports, terminals, and the Last Mile. How will, e.g. developments in operations, energy, and land use affect the need for new infrastructure? How will societal changes and new technology lead to increased efficiency and sustainability?
The project is financed by Vestfold and Telemark County Council and uses relevant research. The workshops are facilitated by our member, Rambøll Management Consulting. Rambøll is an expert in scenario methodology with extensive experience in Norwegian transport, logistics, and intelligent mobility.
Participation is free of charge.
Workshop 2 – Developing Scenarios
Tuesday 25. April
Based on identified driving forces of great importance for the industry, future visions of Norway’s transport network are developed with an emphasis on operations within ports, terminals, and the Last Mile. We challenge established truths through creative thought processes and discussion.
Workshop 3 – From the Future to Today
Tuesday 30. May
I identify logical timelines of events and activities from the future to the present. For example, “How do we get to the different scenarios? What must have happened? Who is involved?”
Workshop 4 – Ecosystems and Value Chains
Tuesday 13. June
Based on the insights from the previous workshops, we identify needs in the years ahead and discuss how the current transport network is equipped to accommodate and influence development. What must we look after and change? Relevant discussion topics are actors in the ecosystem and the need for collaboration, framework conditions, and supplier requirements.
Workshop 5 – Methods and Models
Thursday 22. June
This workshop builds on workshop four, where we take a step further and discuss concrete methods and models to realize opportunities. This can, for example, be through new business and collaboration models and decision-making bases for the entire mobility system.
